Brief Summary of Unit
This unit is about the Pythagorean Theorem and how to find unknown distances. The understanding that the Pythagorean Theorem is everywhere in the world along with how right triangles can be found in other polygons will be clear. The understanding will come from many examples, instruction, and demonstration. At the end there will then be a project that will assess the understanding of the Pythagorean Theorem using Google Earth. This will cover standards 7 and 8, along with Google Earth skills, presentation skills, and creative thinking skills. At the end of this unit, it will be clear how to use the Pythagorean Theorem in many ways and many places.
